Diablo 4 Kor Dragan Stronghold: How to destroy Vampiric Incubators and beat Nilcar

Close to waypoints scattered around the Diablo 4 map, players will notice heavily guarded Strongholds. Breaking into these well-protected landmarks requires players to be on top of their game, especially in terms of builds and stats when playing Hardcore.

In addition to the enemies lurking in Strongholds, there will also be area-based tasks you’ll need to complete to progress further. These activities will often be tied to gates opening or causing bosses to spawn when they’re completed.

The Kor Dragan Stronghold is a level 25-plus area, and it’s a great place to visit for loot, gold, and XP if you’re already geared enough to survive the encounters.

It’s time to pop some giant blood pus bubbles. Here’s how to win the fight in Kor Dragan.

How to destroy Vampiric Incubators in Diablo 4’s Kor Dragan stronghold

Several Vampiric Incubators will be found throughout the Stronghold, but you need to destroy some blood bubbles called Vampiric Corruptions throughout the area before you can take down the Incubators.

There are three Incubators in total before the final boss can be summoned, and each Incubator has at least two Corruptions connected to them.

When players destroy a Vampiric Incubator, they’ll also get to face off against an Elite boss. There are a total of three Vampiric Incubators at the locations, meaning you’ll battle three Elite bosses.

How to beat Nilcar in Diablo 4’s Kor Dragan stronghold

All of your adventures inside the Kor Dragan stronghold will eventually lead you to Nilcar, the final boss. The Forgotten Bishop comes with a rather crowded fight since he gets lots of help from spawns like Sanguine Knight and Inquisitor.

When it comes to dealing with Nilcar’s help, you’ll want to be quick since letting them stack can turn them into an overwhelmingly strong force. Watch out for Hellbinders’ stun and other surrounding mechanics that will try to distract your attention from Nilcar.

As you fight through Nilcar’s HP bar segments and grab your health potions, they will spawn a new add from the three blood bubbles around the room. If you’re not careful with keeping the adds down, you might have to deal with three at a time along with the boss at once—and this is a nightmare scenario. Do your best to keep the adds down while saving your high-damage abilities for the boss to whittle away at their HP.

The first add can be the toughest to deal with since it will constantly be spewing poison pools all around the arena, and standing inside of those will drain your HP quite quickly. We had success in this fight by dealing with the adds as fast as possible, but keep in mind that they will only be knocked out once their HP is gone. Nilcar will revive them over time.

In the meantime, Nilcar’s Blood Barrage attack can prove to be a real challenge since the ability can be lethal when you’re too busy trying to kite many other enemies. It’s actually quite tough to notice when Nilcar is doing this attack since it doesn’t make much noise, visually or otherwise, but you’ll notice your health going down if you’re in its path.

When I was having issues with the poison enemies, I slotted some Amethyst gems into my armor for extra damage over time reduction to help me survive the encounter. And that was the difference-maker for me after I died several times.

What loot does Nilcar drop in Diablo 4?

Nilcar can drop various loot including Basic Wands, Highland Boots, and Fur-lined Pants. Despite sounding mediocre, these items can be salvaged or extracted for Legendary aspects.

Unlike a few other Strongholds in the Fractured Peaks region, finishing this one won’t unlock any new vendors, but you should still reap any spoils that the boss drops and also loot the remainder of the area once it’s quiet.

The loot will be combined with gold, XP, and 100 Renown points you’ll receive from capturing the stronghold.
